How does a 'halal' date take place ?

Re: How does a 'halal' date take place ?

If we consider a typical desi scenario, is 'dating' (halal or haram) a healthy activity? In an arranged setting, boys families (with or without boys) cum to visit for seeing the 'girl' as arranged by the parents... and if the boy conveys his intention to have a meeting or conversation with the girl, what should be the girl's response to this request? The girls parents might allow the meeting, telephone conversation or chatting, but wouldn't it hurt the girl's feelings if she is desi and if the guy just rejects her on the basis of her conversation? Would the girl continue to accept such requests from future proposals? Wouldn't it be detrimental to her emotions? Afterall, she is a human being and is not a robot which continues to talk to various guys who want to judge her compatibility for marriage... Guys might think this as a halal way to stare at girls when they visit their homes for rishta purpose... but this is certainly not liked by girls :(

Yes, It is better being disappointed in the short run than being stuck with an incompatible person for life.
