Like the title says, how to treat your car? Is it a prized possession that you treat with great care, taking it to the car wash every week, screaming at people when they drop something in there. Or is it just a commuter to you? Something that gets you from point A to B. You just make sure it gets routine maintenance.
I’ll go first. I think of my car as something that helps me get around. I somewhat take care of the scheduled maintenance. Scratches don’t bother me a lot. The car had some before I bought it. I don’t eat in the car because I usually have enough time to actually go inside restaurants. I used to when I was working longer hours. The inside is fairly clean. The car hasn’t gotten a wash in long time (embarrassing I know).
It’s mainly a means to get from A to B. So I am not one of those people who take their car to the car wash every week. It’s more like once every 2 months. It has a few scratches and I’ve been kind of lazy about getting them fixed. They don’t really bother me that much though. I’ll get it done when I get around it.
However: I get very, very, very irritated when someone eats in my car (or drinks anything other than water). My kids know that there is a no-eating in Daddy’s car policy. That policy also exists for Mummy’s car, but she doesn’t apply it that strictly.
Well I try to treat them well, keep the clean but Mrs. Chaudhry use cars as extention to her Pantry and hence not very cooperative in keeping them clean. Otherwise, its mostly a mode for safely and securely moving us and to that point regular maintenance is done.
Now that was about every day cars. I do own a corvette which offcourse is off limits to Mrs. Chaudhry and Jr. Chaudhries, its taken care of as a new wife that is more time is spent on its upkeep than actually driving it. The most that car is used is to for my 4 mile commute on the days Jr. Chaudhries are home in summer. In winter, its kept in shiny in garage hidden from mother nature and chaudhry family.
