I try not to use abbreviations in my texts and emails whether formal or informal, for some reason I find them annoying

in informal text it is ok but not in emails.

Yeah I didn’t even like to use it in texts, but unless you have a pretty smart phone, texting is such a pain, so I eventually just typed whatever I needed to get my point across.
In emails I don’t like to do that. But I’m not strict with capitalization and stuff. I should be though. I am an English teacher, after all.

I use abbreviations as i can type and send it quickly especially when i'm driving.
