When you buy those huge bags of basmati rice, do you need to store it in a sealed container after opening, or is it okay to just slit open the bag and use it like that

we have it in a plastic container with a lid, lid opens up to pout it out and the lid actually is a measuring cup as well. its big enough to hold more than half rice from a bag, teh rest goes into an identical container.

That's how we use it.. the bag it comes in usually has a zipper.

My mom usually keeps rice bags in a sealed container,and it does last longer this way..

my mom used to leave the rice in the bag it comes in and she wud also drop a bunch of dried red chillies inside the bag to keep the insects away.

rectangular airtight container with snap-lock lid that is the height of the cupboard under the kitchen counter.
