how do you setup chaat station

Please give an idea on how to make chaat station. What items required to setup?

Re: how do you setup chaat station

yogurt, channa (plain or with spices), chilli powder, salt powder, cubed potatos, onions, tomatos, garaam masala or chaat masala, and that crunchy stuff i forget the name of it, I think its called namak pari. different chutney, green chutney, methi chutney.

I think the whole point of chaat station is that u put all the ingredients in one area, and people put as much as they want. you can google chaat station to see how to set it up to make it look nice

Re: how do you setup chaat station

This is how I would do it. I would mix the potatoes, chanay, onions, tomstoes, dhania, mint, lemon juice, chaat masala, soaked boondi dana…and give all these ingredients a good mix and put them in one bowl. The I would place smaller separate bowls for the different chutneys, yogurt, and crispy toppings and additions.

I did google it and can’t find it. In sure it should be somewhere. I agree with binte Naeem it looks very elegant. But I’m totally clueless on how to set one up

Twinkle, I’ve done Chaat Bars at least a dozen times and it really is the simple. I’m going to try to attach some pics here of the last one I set up at a friends baby shower, but the GS app sucks so if they don’t post I’ll attach from my laptop

Yay!!! Success!!! Ok, now that you can visualize it, let me give you some tips:

  • keep all your bowls and dishes the same…it makes it look neat and stylish. I went to IKEA and bought the all white serving bowls and coordinating dips server
  • Boiled (or canned) channay, boiled and cubed potatoes, diced onion, diced tomatoes, chopped hara dhaniya, papdis/fried puris, sev, whipped yogurt, imli ki chutney, hari chutney, hot and sweet/garlic chutney, prepared pani for gol gappay, chaat masala, crushed red pepper flakes----- these are the individual ingredients I set out
  • depending on your set up, you can do this either in assembly line fashion, or grouped on a table as I showed you above (this particular setup was for about 30 people, I served this along with Chicken 65 for the appetizers)

it looks amazing. Howver I think for 100 ppl it might require a lot more work and dishes. The thing is for 30 ladies you can do an amazing job when you have more ppl it takes more planning and manpower.

For the amount of people you’re talking about, a chaat bar is still very much doable, but yes, it requires some organization and can be a little labor intensive. Your venue, space will also determine if it’s feasible or not because you need to be able to keep a good flow going around the table set up…

If you are looking for appetizers for 100 people…pick two items and keep it simple:

Item 1: cocktail samosas/pakoras/aloo tikkis

Item 2: channa chaat/cholay/dahi barray

These can all me made very easily on larger quantities
