I have officially ruined two of my shirts. I was eating achar and the oil dripped onto my shirt.
And then I unknowingly slid the sleeve of my shirt into the plate and got oil all over it. grumpy

i once had one on the table cloth...i tried almost everything that could have been used but it never went away.....

it's the darn haldi and oil stuff they put it in it..

Try applying some "Lestoil" to the stain. It's a little hard to find ,but is really good at taking out oil stains.
My mom always used the following to get out mustard stains, which have a lot of haldi:
Mix a tiny 3 parts dish soap to one part rubbing alcohol, put a rag underneath the shirt or whatever, and blot a good amount onto the stain. Don't rub, just let it soak into the rag. Wait about 10-15 minutes, then rinse it with hot water. That should take a lot of it out. Treat the haldi part of the stain first, then you can worry about the oil.

part glyecrine and part baking soda.
in luke warm water dip the stained cloth.
soak in a lump of glycerine and add baking soda.
lt it sit for over night in little water
then next day, wash with detergent like Tide.
the stain will atleast be much more faded.
and with more washing wil go away completely.

stains does goes away if you a good dishwashing liquid... not the cheap one. all you got to do is to apply the liquid directly to the stain and rub it for few minutes and then wash it off. simple. I removed a few days old stain from my shirt by using sunlight washing dishwashing liquid and its completely gone. sometimes it depens on the texture of the cloth too and you need to wash it off couple of times to get it away.
