When you pray at home, do you pray in a jamaat or does everyone pray separately?
Which do you prefer? Does it bother you if you pray jamat in that you feel it becomes less personalized? Is there more sawab to pray in jamat? Also, do you feel more obligated if infact your family prays in jamaat? Meaning, do you feel that you have to pray or else you will get in trouble? If you dont pray jamaat with family, would you like to? Do you feel if your family did pray jamaat, you would be more encouraged to pray(if you dont pray much or at all right now)? Thanks.
we dont do jamat in our house, although we could.. but we somehow or another end up in the same place praying at the same time but with different speeds
i think its quite spiritual to pray together.. but its nice to do it on ur own too
From wat i know, jamat is more important and more sawab for guys, n if they go to the masjid its 27 times more. My dad and my brothers usually go to the mousque since its like 5 mins away and me n my mom usually pray at home, never as a jamat though, sometimes in the same room but I usually like to pray in my room cuz I like takin my time with my duas...I dont know I am not comfortable with jamat, even in school I do it because I dont want it to be kaza but i definately prefer praying alone in my room
Well we're supposed tp pray together as a family as it promotes togetherness and have our own individual prayer time too for comtemplative prayer... (btw I'm catholic just in case anyone was wondering)
There is no question that praying in jamat is better than praying alone. I think if we know the importance of Jamat we would never pray alone. Jammat itself is another way for iniviting people to join the pray. .
I think praying in Jammat is all about following and leading. So we have to look deep and see why we would not join a jamat, which is preferred over praying alone.
Never prayed in congregation at home, but at Mosque that's the way it always is.
I like it both ways, I prefer to pray the optional prayers in my bedroom, hardly ever pray anything except the obligatory congregational prayer in Mosque.
we sometimes pray with jaama but most of us don't get home until late at night or are out of the house most of the time so don't get a chance to do so.
We have designated a day for praying fajr together, and after which we do brief zikar as well. Alhamdulillah it has worked out really well.
As far as I know there is more thawab in praying in jaama. I just tend to make longer du'as when I'm praying by myself vs. praying together :)
