Is using a computer allowed?! I went to Pakistan and they stopped me from using my laptop and imagine now I will be going to chicago :S
Sleeping, playing games,watching movies, reading for all youngsters and un married people, and for me kids are enough to spend my time otherwise I eat my hubz ears :D

It's not allowed to use any electronic devices (including laptops) during take-off and landing. But apart from that you can use devices that do not submit/receive any electronic signals during the flight. So you can use a laptop (make sure you de-activate WiFi on it though), you can use an iPod, you can use a PSP, etc.
But you are not allowed to use mobiles, radios, walkie talkies and stuff like that at any time during the flight.
On some short flights (such as the ones from Dubai to Pakistan) they might stop you from using any electronic devices whatsoever. It shouldn't be a problem on longer flights though.

i always try to sleep. lekin neend hi nai ati hai,
thodhi si ati hai, and when i awake i am always glad ke i slept for such a long time and the plane must be near destination,
lekin gharri pe dekh ke patta chalta hai ke sirf 20 minutes guzre :hinna:

i listen to music or just watch on board movies...since i am a tall guy...6feet2inches....i never have enough leg room...so i always dread flying...by the time i land...my knees are killing me...

Read a good book.. Some magazines.. Playing games and watch movies with PSP.. Or movies on board IF they have good movies.. Listen to music.. Sleep..

I normally try to have less sleep for the last night before long flights. so that just after take off i can have long sleep . normally i get 2 -3 hrs sleep. after that u can watch movies or read books , but sum time really becomes problem

i write urdu poetry and so far i have written enuf to publish my deevaan [book]. i think by the time i stopped flying, i'll have more than a dozen books...but where am i gonna get an audience? i got idea: i can hire people at $10 an hour to listen to my poetry or simply "sunaao" them at gunpoint haha**

Play a game of SPOT THE PERVERTS.
Watch the new movies!!!
And play games. And read the magazines. And go to sleep. And watch the people in the plane and try to figure out their lifestories and circumstances.

poori time bachha sambhaalne main lag jaata hai :lolz:i dont want him to cry and make noises.
watch the in plane movies, chat with whoever is with me, try and sleep. then become too restless to want to do anything else lol.

hahahaha ya i always do that too.....i even do it when we r driving in the car..drives my husband crazy, but i find it so fasinating :D:D
i dunt think your allowed ..cos i trieddd ..and they stopped me …and last time i went backk i tried again and nearlly worked .. but about 5 mins into me using ma lappy .. it went off .. came home wudnt turrn onn .. so went to get it checked it .. and the ppl who checked it said . that the hard drive was wiped clean and blown 
.. i had to return my lappy and take money back or replace .. nw i dunt have any lappy
as securityyy of avigation system and to avoid interferrance with onboard computers …am sure your not allowed to as far as i knww 
hwever, in my journeyy i make full use of my tiket spent …by killing foods and drinks .. land with a bellly full and walk around .. talking to ppl .. am very social in this matter .. awein strt talking to any one whose feeling bored ..as em first though k if they dunt mind unless they want to be bored … get to knw the crewww .. in this process few years backk .. the air hostess allowed me to even see the cockpit of a 747 PIA.. was in there for about 10 mins .. soo coool, i wna be a pilot cooll … even then after all this … maske use of the on board entertainment ..music/films..

its absolutely allowed during the flight, only not during the take off/landing and turbulence.. Else some airlines has power outlets as well..
I guess you would be trying Emirates and Etihad to Chicago, so Aisha, they definitely allow Laptop. Also its not allowed only in older aircrafts now, which are mostly in use in short haul flights only especially in the Middle East/Asian SubContinent region.
Back to the topic, I watch movies and a lot of movies, including the Indian Ones on my long haul flights. :).

I think small jets don't allow use of any electronic device, big once ban it only during take off and landing.
i watch movies, they always have the latest movies. Or just sit back close my eyes and pretend i'm sleeping, it kind of works for me, cause by the time i'm tired of pretending , several hours are gone, then i just go through thier magazines and duty free items :)
