I am a huge bagel fan and the rare days when I actually eat breakfast, its a given that i’ll be eating a bagel.
My old favorite was a sesame or poppy seed plain bagel with cream cheese, sometimes with jelly also, and some days just with butter, but I have recently tried and become seriously addicted to raisin bagels. They are absolutely divine with cream cheese and a big ol’ steamin cup of joe. I also absolutely loveee everything bagels with a vegetable cream cheese spread or cream cheese and olives. Makes for a filling breakfast and delicious lunch as well.
I dont really like my bagels toasted, fresh bagels just dont need to be toasted.
So whats your favorite bagel and how do you eat it?
I LOVE this question. Just like you, I love my sesame and poppy seed bagels. They're the ones I like best. Mmmmmm, bagels from Panera......YUM!
As far as cream cheese is concerned, I love veggie cream cheese, chive and onion cream cheese, and plain cream cheese. I would like to try sun-dried tomato cream cheese spread one day soon.
And I don't mind toasted bagels at all. In fact, not too long ago, I toasted my sesame bagel, spread on some plain cream cheese, topped it with a slice of tomato, and drizzled a little sweet chili sauce on it.......YUM!
And once I had this scrumptious bagel sandwich from Einstein's Bagels. It was soooo delicious. It had veggies, cheese, and a hummus sauce.
I never even knew they have a sundried tomato cream cheese out... who makes it? Philadelphia?? I really like chive and onion as well.... I've tried salmon flavored cream cheese and its gross, but I do like to add real salmon or lox to my plain cream cheese bagel whenever im out of lunch options... or even tuna salads or chicken salad... smoked trout with capers and cream cheese.. oh so good!
When I was in L.A. there was this bakery up the road where they had all these amazing flavors like chocolate chip bagels, spinach, asiago cheese bagels, french toast bagel with hazelnut cream cheese. That stuff was out of this world... just really really yummy.. too bad we dont get that kinda variety here... or maybe we do and im just not looking in the right places?

Panera bakery is nice.....but we don't have much variety here either. Some day, in the near future, I so want to visit Chicago and New York.....the food is motivation enough. And shopping as well:)
I love honey wheat bread from Subway. It makes a great sandwich bread. Has a pleasant but subtle sweet taste. The aroma and taste of fresh baked bread is oh so comforting!
