Maybe it’s an outdated concept in the current age. Women have degrees and skills so they don’t need mahr thrown at them.

Outdated concept?? Well this is what our religion says. Its her “huq”, degree or no degree.

And those engagements are not being called off by girls but guys who don’t like the amount of huq mehar given by girls. Now obviously a girl shouldn’t ask for too much which a guy cant give her which is a different topic altogether.
