Huma - first off: you are very welcome for the advice!! 
I think I am going to stick with the petroleum Jelly … I use the equate brand it smells so good! And using a very little bit of it goes a long way and after like 15 minutes it absorbs into your skin. Its done wonders for me and that is what the dermatologist recommended above any other lotion or moisturizers !!! I’ll stick with what the doctor says but thanks for mentioning the alternative.
I use an exfoliating glove in the shower. It’s easier to use as opposed to a loofah. I have one that is similar to this: Earth Therapeutics - Exfoliating Hydro Gloves - Natural, 1 ea
