If you want to be noticed by your manager’s manager in terms of performance and overall achievement. What are some of the tactics you would use without making the manager conscious?
Or is it a bad idea to try and reach out to the senior management?

Being the one who manages all the servers for the group I am usually part of all the senior management meetings and get to talk to not only the manager or their manager but also VP's and president of the organization. I think its good to get noticed with the senior management cause you never know when that next promotion is going to come and you might get it if you are noticed on the senior management level.

Plus… you give them gifts on cultural occasion… invitation in your party… they will notice you…

I dont. If they cant see from the work I am producing then the gifts and all wont matter. I let my work speak before I do.
