let your requirements know to your mom/sisters/guardian.

following tips can speedup rishta process.
- be flexible
- dont compromise on core requirements
- only visit those homes where your requirements match a lot
- be open and always willing to provide reference

visit only those families where your family members are really want to initiate rishta/baat pakki. I mean, your family should investigate girl's family before you pay visit. it will really help you and other side.

I think if one cant find one on their own, then asking parents to do it for them is the best. agree with STA

some good places to look for other people that also might be looking are:

*The Masjid:

Ask the Imam - he might know of brothers/sisters or a family that is looking for their child.
Volunteer at the Masjid/Join a Halaqa or a attend a class/seminar at the masjid. Be a regular at the masjid. Meet other muslims there. Make connections. You might meet "the one" there, or meet someone else who might know of a match.

**Aid Groups:

**Volunteer. There are so many places to volunteer at - something that you would like to give more time for and taht is close to your heart. During Ramadan, there are plenty of Ramadan projects and inititaives going on, for example. Its a good way to meet people that have the same interest as you in terms of helping other people.

*Social Networking Groups:

For examples, CAMP - Council for Advanced Muslim Professionals. Attend some formal dinners/networking events they host.

*Match Making Events:

Try those Islamic Speed Dating events. They are done in a group setting so there is no pressure.

Network:

Meet new people. Doesnt have to be of the opposite gender. But meeting people of the same gender. Who knows, they might have siblings who are looking.
Tell people that you ready to find someone and to look for you as well. How else would people think of you if you dont tell them?
Don't just stay home and think you'r Prince Charming/Martha Stewart would come knocking on your door. Get active and get out there.

Create a business card with your parents details on it and write parents of "your name" ... Put a fancy logo on it and print off about 100.

Then when you see the odd nice person ... bend down and stop them saying I think you may have dropped this ... and hand it to them and run away ... or if you are cool walk away whilst looking at them and then swishing your hair around like a wella advert ...

Have a caption reading "Marriage is half your Deen" and small print ... "if you are already married ... please give this card to someone like you who is not ... JazakAllahuKhair"
