How do you decide what threads to view/read?

How do you decide what threads deserve a glance from you?

The original poster? The title of the thread? The number of views / replies? Other criteria?

Re: How do you decide what threads to view/read?

My interest in the topic under discussion.
So this is how I do it. I click on the new posts and keep going through the list of threads and right click on the ones I like and open them in a new tab. Once I have gone through first page of new posts , I start reading those threads I opened in new tabs. Then I repeat the process with the second page of new posts and so on so forth.

Di I answer your question ?

Re: How do you decide what threads to view/read?

Mostly depends on the name of the thread starter.

wow… Mirch bhai - now that’s systematic :k:

Re: How do you decide what threads to view/read?

I am with Mirch Bhai.. I open the new posts, go through the first page list and open in new tabs and then second and third until last... thats how I do it all the time..

Re: How do you decide what threads to view/read?

I look at the last poster above the green little button because there are certain people here who I enjoy reading.

Re: How do you decide what threads to view/read?

Let me guess, no one is going to admit the click on the thread where every one is posting.

i move the cursor over the thread title, and if the original poster's comment there is interesting, i'll go into the thread to read more.

Re: How do you decide what threads to view/read?

Same as Mirch aunty..
1. topics that are interesting
2. hot topics with many replies and participants
3. general threads like this one

Some times topis and most of the time I vist only AV threads and shor threads.

Re: How do you decide what threads to view/read?

Topic and number of replies...if its too many already ..then usually I don't reply!!

Re: How do you decide what threads to view/read?

look whose the poster then what section its in like All views, then who replies last and clik on last page what they had to say and reply

Re: How do you decide what threads to view/read?

I normally hover my mouse over the Title I find interesting and if the beginning still interests me I visit that thread. Also sometimes, the number of views/replies counts.

What I don't click is the topics with really ambiguous Titles, like 'What is, what will you do, how would you' etc. etc... I find that really irritating.

Original poster, last person posting, title of thread, the forum it's in.

Re: How do you decide what threads to view/read?

for me usually its numbers of posts.

ps. LC, r u doing some kinda research on forums.

Re: How do you decide what threads to view/read?

^ zobia, I'm always learning :) - and my research on virtual communities is still ongoing... but this was more of a general question.

who started the thread...who was the last one to post in that thread...the forum where the thread was started...the topic under discussion...and lastly, the length of the thread....

:)

Re: How do you decide what threads to view/read?

title of the thread in combination with original poster. thats the main criteria for me. #of views/posts is all trivial
