How do you celebrate Eid

We will go for Eid prayers in the mosque, have lunch at home and then have Eid dinner at a local restaurent thats having Eid buffet…

Have decorated the house with baloons and lights as its my baby’s first Eid ul Adha

whats your plans?how do you celebrate?

Re: How do you celebrate Eid

I’m still thinking…can’t decorate the house coz we’re still renovating. We’re sacrificing the lamb here in UK but don’t know when will the meat be available to distribute, on Sunday or Monday?

If on Sunday then I’ll make desi snacks for lunch (samosa, tandoori wings, chaat and kachooris), dress up and take the meat to friends and relatives and then evening meal at a restaurant inshallah.

Re: How do you celebrate Eid

we will have eid on sunday, and got meat on Monday evening.

we will go to mosque and pray and then do breakfast in mosque.

this eid we are invited in family dawat, so it will going to be fun. :@:

Re: How do you celebrate Eid

Eid is on Sunday, so in the morning everyone is going to Eid namaz. Come back and the guys are going to sacrifice the lamb while the older women help with that and cook. Most of the time will be devoted to that. Us girlies will be together hang out maybe go out watch something and then later at night help with distributing out the meat. All of our families are usually together, with so many people in one place, you barely get any chance to breathe but I’m looking forward to it. It should be fun

Re: How do you celebrate Eid

**depends when the Eid falls...if on the weekend, we go to namaaz...we invite friends/relatives...go to Eid Milan Parties...give N receive Eid..call friends and relatives wherever they are located...it's FUN!

If it falls on a weekday, we go to namaaz, then go to work. we get invite or be invited by close relatives. give and receive Eidi :) it's NOT that much fun.**

:smack: ofoh, eid ka chand dus din pehlay nazar ajata hai, you should know when it going to happen

Re: How do you celebrate Eid

We go to convention hall for prayer. In our town all the mosques still celebrate both eids on same day so it is always a big crowd.
Then we go to our own majid for a potluck brunch and lunch. If it is on weekend we will invite or get invited to some friend's home for a eid milan party.

Re: How do you celebrate Eid

i’m NOT talking about the upcoming Baqra eid…i talked about ANY Eid

Re: How do you celebrate Eid

Normally, go for Eid salat in the morning, come home. Either go visit others or host a dawat ourselves.

This Eid though, I got the flu. So it will probably go like this for me--go for Eid salat, come home and sleep. Only wake up to make salat or eat.

You mean an Eidmas Bush

Re: How do you celebrate Eid

I didn't go for Eid namaz last time.....too lazy....and did not have the energy to see the faces of the people from work. Don't have anything against them.....it's just that i looked forward to a break ( in the literal sense) from them. And then I did not have the energy to deal with the same questions (about work) from the same aunties...after the Eid meet-n-greet. I know....that sounds mean...it makes me look really bad. And even this time...I think I'm going mainly because I didn't go last time.......still don't look forward to hearing the same questions, etc. And while i know that in the spirit of Eid...you should put on a happy face even when meeting people you're none too fond of....still I don't look forward to a few of them. I guess you could say there's a sort of fakeness on both ends. Eid's funner when you're a kid.

Re: How do you celebrate Eid

Heres my plan for this Eid (which is usually what happens every Eid):

Eid Namaz, getting ready for the Eid Brunch, close friends invited for the Brunch, get done by 4pm, then have some rest, then go out (any program like fair, eid program etc.) If feel like having dinner, we have something light from outside or just ice cream etc.

Next day, we plan to have full desi breakfast (halwa poori chanay :D). Then we plan to go on a road trip, passing through old bazaars, traditional markets/ architectural sites, springs, valleys etc. We should be back by early evening since my bro has work the next day.

Don't have much friends/ relatives around. We give qurbani money since none of us like to eat qurbani meat because of the smell and the feeling :(

Re: How do you celebrate Eid

Every Eid Ul Adha, our extended family decides on praying at a chosen mosque/eid gah, then we visit the cemetery. After we go to our eldest grandfather's house eat and have fun etc.

Around 11am we have a gift ceremoney where all the children in our generation as well as the next recieve gifts!

Pray Zuhur and then everyone returns to thier houses or they go an visit other friends!

Alhumdulilah this has been going on even before i was born!
