You have some shimla mirch and qeema in the small plate
and 2 tandoori rotis in the second plate - with some salad raita etc
Now as you get closer to finishing off the second roti, you realize that the salan plate is almost quarter full , so the question is whether to take half roti extra to finish off the Qeema plate - or eat the qeema with a spoon, or just leave it like that (but then begum starts with her blah blah blah )
I find it really tough, on many occasions I have taken half roti only to find that the salan finished in just 2 niwalaaz , and then to finish the extra roti I end up taking more salan in my plate, and then the roti finishes again and there is some salan leftover in the plate again
You aint the only one … perhaps i must say " welcome to my world "
and i will tell you what my mom tells me : " nursery mein daakhil ho jaao , khana bhi nahin dhang sai khaana aata " !!!
The grand solution, which has been zaberdasti implemented on me by the greater powers in my home :
keep a bowl of salan on the table and the trick is to put spoonfuls one at a time in your plate … keep an eagle’s eye on the roti and make sure you do your math correctly and you will need to use two particular business skills : forecasting and analysis … of the roti mainly …
as soon as you have just 3 -4 lukma’s left , shift focus immediatly to the salan and pour only a small spot of salan from the bowl into your plate and try to take baby steps … yes , one lukma at a time … and yipppeeee you did it .. roti and salan finished in one go …
Short cut : keep looking at your wife from the corner of your eye and the minute her attention diverts to something else , pour the salan back into the bowl … its works .. trust me.. may success be yours in this khana balance mission :pkj:
