Making a decision is relative to our interests. if the outcome of it suites our desires then we take it as a right decision, otherwise wrong.

but at times we are in a situation where our decision to be taken might affect our friends or family.That is where i have to think like a million times:hmmm:
In that case you give merits to your actions. Weigh every option that how it is going to affect your family or friends.

Decision making isn't black and white. The world shimmers in shades of grey. If you don't think of outcomes in terms of "this outcome is good" or "this outcome is bad" you've taken the power right out of making a decision.
Common sense, weigh u're pro's and con's.. when all else fails do the "Istikhara"
you can't know. all you can do is pray for the best and do istikharra. and when it turn out to be the wrong decision, you say,
Innallah-e-wa-inallah hai rajioon..We all come from Allah and go back to Allah

you make a decison on what you have gained in the past and if its a similar sittuation and the experience was not good .. then you base your decision on that ...
its like the Prophet SAW said .. a beliver should never get bitten from the same scorpion hole twice ..
and a person should learn from mistakes as they could be costly and at the same time rewarding .. in decision making if needed ..

thats where knowledge comes in....and thats one of the reasons why it is stressed upon in islam to gain knowledge no matter how and at what cost.
