How do Pakistanis feel about China (merged)

Re: How do Pakistanis feel about China

Re: How do Pakistanis feel about China

Cyber,

They are committing exactly the same mistake that a whole lot of guppies are doing here as I stated earlier. Confusing relatiions betwenn countries with that between people. No matter how little I might like the policies of Hu Jintao with India, I know Cyberena had nothing to do with it. It all comes from not having really good friends from the other countries other than one you are born in it. Nonsense spouted by so many Pak guppies, including some mods only shows their real lack of knowledge of China and its culture.

Did you notice from instance not one guppy said he loves, let's say, Zhang Ziyi better than Gong Li (I like Gong Li better). I tell you why. They never saw a single Chinese dianying. 他们都说他们爱忠骨,但是并指导中古文化。他们光说,不愿意知道你们的文化。

Re: How do Pakistanis feel about China

Sure, I dont have Chinese friends and am not 'very' familiar with their pop culture, literature, but am oriented enough to recognize a Chinese painting, enjoy Chinese food and learn about their ancient and modern history which interests me greatly. Same is true for many and it must be similar for most Chinese for Pakistan and Pakistanis.

Unfortunately, it seems youre still confused about how cultural similarities or familiarities are quite irrelevant when it comes to international diplomacy and relations between nations. Betwen individuals yes, it's important. I'd agree with what you're saying if your argument was focused on proving that a Pakistani with little connection or knowledge about Chinese way of life and culture can hardly be a 'real friend' with a Chinese person, but when youre saying what youre saying about relations bewteen two countries, it's not the music, books or food that counts, rather the geography, geo-political situation, goals etc. Do you think the far away lands of Arabs and the Americans have been together because of cultural similarities? It's something else that has lead to many Arabs learning about US and making american friends and Americans learning about Arabs and making Arab friends.
Ironically your argument in a way is trying to prove that since "99%" Pakistanis are not as familiar with Chinese life as you are (due to whatever opportunities or circumstances life has offered you), Pak-China relationship is hollow? Why then, given your individual relations with Chinese people, aren't Indo-China relations made stronger!? Or is it that "99%" Indians are also not as familiar with Chinese ppl as you are, and therefore this becomes irrelevant?
Meanwhile, just for an example, how similar is Indian culture to Russian or how many Indians are familiar with Russian art, literature, music, everyday lifestyle and have Russian 'best friends'? Or how many Russians have the same about India?

Anyway, the fact that Pakistan and China are 'best friends' for many strategic reasons, and not personal, and that has lead to many Pakistanis marry in China, travel there few times a month, have Chinese friends visit them in Pakistan and many Chinese even live in Pakistan and run family businesses there. Many of these "personal relations" may have been formed either out of personal reasons, diplomatic ties, business ties etc and may and may or may not have any serious contingency with the Pak-China current dilplomatic relations as such. So perhaps relations between nations later do slightly stir/affect individual relations but surely not the way you seem to make it look.

Re: How do Pakistanis feel about China

I am not at all confused about the relationships between countries and those between individual citizens. I believe the threade was started by Cyberena to find out how individual Pakistanis felt about individual Chinese. Indivdual Chinese don't give a damn about individual Pakistan dn vice a versa. You probably won't even eat at a Chinese household given the fact that China is the world's biggest pork consumers. As far individual Russians and Indians believe me, I know a few Russians and they have nothing but contempt for all desis. Although Russia and India are very good friends, the same is not true regarding Russains and Indians. In fact I have been treated by Pakistanis far better than Russians.
Harris, it is in fact you that has been confused about what this thread is all about. Your straight forward and honest anser should have been that you don't know any Chinese personally and have no opinion about them.

Re: How do Pakistanis feel about China

Actually many chinese families were invited to a pakistani wedding i was at! I wanted them to sit at the table i was sitting by lol!

Re: How do Pakistanis feel about China

Most Chinese are very unfamilar with both India and Pakistan though.

Re: How do Pakistanis feel about China

Gosh, These Pakistanis and Indians have started fighting who is more friendlier to Superpower China.

Re: How do Pakistanis feel about China

You misunderstand denada. All I am trying to tell you that despite the torrent of China love flowing out of GS, avergae Chinese does not know or does not care about desis. They are not even aware of the very friendly relations between China and Pakistan. When I mentioned to my zhong-guo pengyou about close relationship between Pakistan and China, they didn't even understand what the hell I was talking about. Majority of Chinese that have met in North America have a serious communication problem in English. They are supremely brilliant people but English is not their language. They are therefore totally indifferent to your so called intra-country relationship, all the more because they do not feel they have any part in that decision.

And you got it it totally wrong that as an Indian I am trying to prove that Chinese are closer to me than you. If they are closer to me (and I am sure they are) it is because I speak, read and write their language. Ask Cyberena if he didn't understand my Chinese.

Re: How do Pakistanis feel about China

Chinese women I know are very familiar with all of me, from head to toe! :)

Re: How do Pakistanis feel about China

The best friend Pakistan has.

Re: How do Pakistanis feel about China

expatobserver,
Let's keep going in circles, but,
in true sense, an individual doesnt usually give a serious darn about his/her own countryfolk let alone a citizen of an ally country. But like I say, the goodwill existing between people of China and Pakistan is very much existant and can be based on whatever. I have experienced it personally on Pakistani soil as well as on foreign soil.

btw, when are you getting a Chinese nationality?

China is Pakistan's friend. But why not Chineese are Pakistanis friends?

China is a friend of Pakistan. But why not Chineese are friends of Pakistani?

Come to multicultural countries, Chineese people look like unknown to Pakistanis. They support us in the same way as others. It does not seem like China is Pakistan's friend. Maybe political friend. Is it due to the different culture?

Re: China is Pakistan’s friend. But why not Chineese are Pakistanis friends?

The same reason why America is not Israel’s friend :halo:

Re: China is Pakistan's friend. But why not Chineese are Pakistanis friends?

Some years back, somewhere in the southern punjab a serious riot broken out between the expatrait chinsese workers and local villagers!

Re: China is Pakistan's friend. But why not Chineese are Pakistanis friends?

Re: China is Pakistan's friend. But why not Chineese are Pakistanis friends?

Put your question is reverse and ask why Pakistanis are not friend of Chinese?

I have many Chinese friends. Are you talking about a certain girl? :D

Re: How do Pakistanis feel about China (merged)

Pls do not feel bad if you are really a `chinese’.Chinese copy cat everything.ut I wish they made brushes and mouth washes.

Re: How do Pakistanis feel about China (merged)

Indeed China is a good friend of Pakistan and she will never lose Pakistan for India.

But chinese never helped Pakis during their most needed times.During 65 and 71.

Re: How do Pakistanis feel about China (merged)

China cannot and will not support Pakistan in times of war. At the most they will remain nuetral. They did not support Pakistan during Kargil incursion. If tomorrow war breaks between India and Pakistan over Kashmir, China would at the most work on having a cease fire.
