that's not very true. even chinese companies invest in india. Huawei, a chinese telecom company invested in india. A part of Indias telecom share is operated by hutchinson holdings, a li-ka shing company but at the same time another arm of li-ka shing company was barred from a containor port project citing security reasons. so i think it's only partially true that chinese are not allowed to invest in india
Even in schools , Indians and Chinese stick together. Mainly because there are separate classes for Gifted and Talented kids and most of these classes are dominated by Indians and Chinese. Go to any Spelling Bee, Math Bee, Geography Bee, Chess competition you will find Indians and Chinese together. Same is the situation in Universities where most of the Graduate and Phd students are Indians and Chinese. Professors are also I & C.
I am doing my graduation in US. who the heck told you that gifted and talented are dominated by indians and chinese?. from where did you get this information?. any link? stop dreaming too much. being patriotic is good but dont make such statements, it looks awkward. come back to earth. It is still whites who dominate this space. and no doubt there are lot of chinese and indians(more chinese) and chinese and indians do stick somewhat with each other
I read an article called “it’s Official: China is India’s Security Threat” on Asia Times. Here are some intercepts.
"*New Delhi has long been wary of allowing Chinese to invest in sensitive sectors, such as ports and telecommunications, but the new edict will extend security reviews to all sectors, including such innocuous sectors as household appliances. For the first **time China will be officially labeled a “security risk”. *
*Once the new FDI norms come into effect, it would mean an end to all automatic clearances for Chinese investments under India’s supposedly liberalized FDI laws as each an every investment coming from China will have to undergo scrutiny by the Indian security agencies. *
Until now, India was selective about imposing restrictions. For instance, only investments in sectors like ports, aviation and telecom and Internet services were selectively screened. But the new framework has reportedly increased the security filter to cover a cross-section of important sectors, such as drugs and pharmaceuticals, data processing, metallurgy, IT hardware, data processing, hydrocarbon exploration, pipelines and refineries and consumer goods. "
However, this article acknowledges that the Indian people are more positive about China than their government. "the Indian government may look down on the Chinese with suspicion, but it seems that most Indians feel positively about their next-door neighbor. According to a recent public opinion survey on Americans and Asians by the Chicago Council on Global Affairs, about 56% of Indians and 46% Chinese felt they were partners rather than rivals, "
There was talk of talk of 'Hindi-Chini Bhai Bhai' and everyone thought India and China were friends. Then China attacked in 1962 and India was caught off guard. So there is still a mistrust and a feeling that China may attack India any time.

Is this feeling among the mass or mostly among the Indian intellecutals?

Just a side note. Silicon Valley is not what it used be anymore. I work around that area. And I observe a lot of companies hire half or even more of their employees by contract or temps through recruiting agencies.
I though this was a thread about Pakistan and China? Why then do Indian’s have such an inferiority complex towards the Chinese that they have to try to bring comparisons with themselves in?
There is too much propaganda going on here, and i see some indians are writing comments under other id's. Put it this way, indians would be delighted to see china lose out on anything, and any trade they do with china, is for thier OWN benefit...
you are telling as if pakistan does trade with other countries for others benefit.
and ofcourse, india is doing trade with china for its own benefit and so is every other country.
And how exactly is that relevant to the topic at hand? We are talking about China and how Chinese are discouraged from investing in India. I know Pakistan discourages trade with India for obvious reasons, and vice-versa. As for Chinese trade with Pak... well they are about to sign a FTA. Now get back to the topic.
And my argument is perfectly valid, as all the mentioned countries are discouraged by GoI to invest in India.

Okay. i thought the topic changed to India pakistan trade.
chinese are investing in india. But, only in selected sectors. and i dont think even indian companies are investing in those sectors in china or have the expertise in those areas, atleast for now.
really??...but anyway let me answer. allowing taiwan to invest would surmount to recognizing taiwan as a country which would make relations between china and india go down. India doesn't have any diplomatic relations with NK let alone trade.
Besides, the trade between india and china is in favour of china by quiet a big amount. so china is benefitting more than india benefitting from this trade.
