I think the Chinese in general don't care much about India and don't view India as a competitor. The Chinese Nationalists in general bash Japan and USA.
Personally, I carefully follow news about Sino-India relationships. Though I have nothing against India, I am sick of those Indians bashing China on the internet. I think the claim that "India is good at software and China is good hardware" is bull****. China just has huge potential in software just as India.

I am an Indian......where are they bashing china?...in which website?.....Even i dont have anything against china or for that matter pakistan. Ordinary indians dont even follow international news let alone talk about china or pakistan...atleast from the place i come
I saw on rediff.com, sometimes they will show some India vs China articles. And those articles will tell you how much China sucks and how much potential India has. And sometimes I see articles on western media written by Indian news editors lauding China's problem and even suggest China is going to fall apart. I will show you those articles if I have time.
I know that most Indians don't care about China. But a small minority of Indian nationalists on the internet makes me feel many Indians like trash China.

yup...rediff does bring articles pertaining to china. they also bring pertaining to US, pakistan, some petty topics of bollywood and what not. Besides, rediff is becoming day by day less credible. i once saw viewers comments over there mentionling like that. Nobody in india thinks that china "sucks".........for majority indians it is food, shelter and clothing. Moreover, those people who do talk about china, they may talk about china being a serious competitor which can take away local jobs.....but definitely not anything like "sucks".......even if some do talk like that (which sure there are as india has a big population like yours), i am sure there will be many chinese having similar opinions about india......and Internet penetration in india is very low and major fights that do happen in the net are between indians and pakistanis. Even this fight has become very normal and boring for me. so dont bother.
it is true....besides how many indians are there overseas?...very small when compared to people in mainland india. if you find any sentence like "india in software and china in hardware" in any rediff or somewhere, just let yourself know that indians are trying to boost their confidence. nothing else
you know what....in front of internet.....the worst of a man comes out easily...he watches porn, will do anything he likes....In reality, it is just a virtual world, but usually not THE reality!
Well, I’m from Pak originally, I think China is a very reliable ally for Pakistan, more so than America. I’d like to see more Pakistan-China ties, which would benefit Pakistan a lot technologically. At the moment Pakistan is playing catch up and growing fast, like China, but China is already years ahead. China’s help on the JF-17 has managed to kick start the aeronautical industry in Pakistan, so it can only be a good thing from the Pakistani point of view. Personally, I like the way that China’s first customer is always Pakistan, like for example the SD-10 sale and the more recent J-10 sale. Likewise, Pakistan was the first country to recognize People’s Republic China.
Oh and as far as what Indians think about China, Cyberena just hang around a bit on these forums and you'll be sure to come across some thread where the Indians will be proving how they're superior to China and even countries like US, some in Europe etc.
Just search for some China bashing threads posted by Indians, you'll find 'em plenty here :)
Most Indians are in awe with China, with the progress made. When they see Shanghai, they know how Mumbai is lagging behind. Indians like the Chinese hardworking capacity, and like the ageold Chinese civilisation. Chinese food is extremely popular in India. (if course with Indian touch). Indians are worried that their dominace in software would soon be taken away by Chinese. Many Indian companies are investing in China. As Chinese are learning English, the advantage Indians have will be gone. Indians want the manufacturing jobs present in China.
There is no hatred or jealousy towards China. They may be some crap on internet, but the general opinion of China is favourable.
cyberena:.......you can search and see the forums. please let us know who started it and how long that thread went. Barring one indian (that too he was not against china but somewhat apprehensive about china) expressed some opinion which u may find uncomforting. I can say this with confidence eversince i have been in this forum....besides, i have come across very few china related threads
started by a pakistani. Now does this mean that pakistanis are against china?..
those threads by indians are not lengthy and most of the comments do not have negative comments about it. Many indians have spoken against US in many threads, but that doesn’t really mean that Majority indians perceive US by that way.

I read a survey saying most Indians have positive opinions of India. And also most of them don't consider China as a military threat. But yet I saw a lot of Indian kids bashing China on the internet. So I don't really know what to think about Indians now.
And the Indian government seems to be more anti-China than its people. I just read the news that India barred the Chinese from investing in most business areas. But the Chinese set no restriction in letting Indians to invest in China.
Are you a moderator of this forum. I am relatively new on this forum, so I don't know whether Indians bash China on this forum. It seems like there are some Indians on this forum...interesting.
