I know they have specialists who preserve the wedding dress for you? Is that the way to go or can i just do something myself? Right now i just have it hanging in my closet with a plastic cover on it…but it’s sooo heavy and taking up a lot of space. Should i fold it?

fold it, n put it in a suit case make sure u dont place any damp or recently dry cleaned or worn clothes in the same case.
lehngas r folded into a cone shape, dont worry nothing wil happen. mine is good as new.
if ur worried about the embroidry getting entangled etc, place clean paper sheets in between folds.

Spacesaver bags .. they will keep the moisture and air out. Store it in dark and cool place.

you can spread it out flat and cover it with a piece of plastic then fold it with the plastic intact. that way the plastic keeps the folds separated and the embroidery wont get tangled together. then just stick the dress in storage. :)

If you wrap it in mulmul fabric or make bags out of mulmul and then store it in a plastic box it's supposed to be good.
