even AVG can’t do it ![]()
Re: How do I heal this virus?
Try running Malwarebytes and Spybot S&D. Be sure to update them first, then do a full scan.
Re: How do I heal this virus?
^try that and see if it works otherwise
try manually deleting it
it’ll say it cannot delete it cuz its being used by windows blah blah…
download this software
FileAssassin - Free software downloads and software reviews - CNET Download.com
install it and right click on file and use fileassassin to delete it ![]()
if even that doesnt work, install ESET smart security lolz i use that and i’ve never got any virus.
Re: How do I heal this virus?
tried any antibiotics?
Re: How do I heal this virus?
^ Yeah, the file's located in the temp folder... try manually cleaning the folder out or use CCleaner. That should work right?
Re: How do I heal this virus?
:-) lets try few BASIC , te thori simple tekneeks
start > run > msconfig [enter]
go into "STARTUP" , take everything and uncheck it. hit apply, ok button becomes "close" , press that. "SYSTEM CONFIGURATION" menu that asks for restart/exit without restart, press restart.
as system restarts, press F8 repeatedly after memory check and starting procedure is done and any "hard drive" spinning/reading starts. in Windows startup, select SAFE MODE.
once in safe mode, try whatever you were doing in AVG .
at this point its a good idea to run CCleaner, and delete/clean EVERYTHING including temp files, prefetch data, windows temp files, recycle bin, user data, temporay internet files, or whatever CCleaner can delete.
**try manually deleting this file as well, svchost.exe shouldn't be in this area. sometimes **u might not be able to delete this because file registers as a service, type=automatic, and "STARTED", meaning u would HAVE to enter into safe mode to successfully delete that.
try this (complicated sounding, yet simple) procedure and report
Re: How do I heal this virus?
^^ nicely explained. as I guess to its some fake file named as svchost and is starting up with windows from temp and not from the actual system folder where it is located.
Though as teggy said Malwayrebyte is one good solution also clear temp.
I’ve just tried running Malware Bytes and I think…hopefully it has removed the virus, thanks
thanks, I tried deleting it from temp files before posting here and it did exactly that

Tried before posting here. Thanks
never used ccleaner but will try it …thanks
My PC wouldn’t start-up in safe mode, kept re-starting back to normal windows
Re: How do I heal this virus?
thats not a good idea.. but i guess problem in hand is fixed so lets hope this kinda thing doesn’t do any more damage…
