How do I halal-ify this dress?

http://www.paklinks.com/gsmedia/files/98445/ASD.jpg

my sister wants me to get this made for her, with sleeves. So what fabric should i use? and would chuRhi-daar sleeves look good with it?

Also, could i please get suggestions for other colour combinations for the dress, the kaRhai will still be in gold… i dont want to use this colour scheme.

thanks.

Re: How do I halal-ify this dress?

lol that's what i say - 'make this outfit halal'

Re: How do I halal-ify this dress?

I don’t think sleeves in a contrasting colour would look all that nice. I’d stick with the pink/red/peach colour palette. Like these:

Re: How do I halal-ify this dress?

hey if this dress is for some big event like mehndi thn go for orange n make sleves wth red colour or shocking pink or purple or margenta.
even u can make it red n go wth bottle green.
or make it whole black, it will look nice.
or peach wth maroon sleeves.
or whatever colour u choose go for slighlty dark shade of same colour.
use shafoon material n i dont think so churidar bazoo will look nice with it

Re: How do I halal-ify this dress?

same color chiffon sleeves, I think churidar ones would look nice.

I do love summer shades (sky blue, pista green, lavender, pink etc)...but pink and dark pink... :)

Re: How do I halal-ify this dress?

for a darker look, you could use dark purple and this type of green/turquoise:

if you still want a brighter look, i’d change the main colour to a coral/pink type shade.. i think it would look awesome with the gold kaam.. and id choose another shade of green… not as dark as the original

Re: How do I halal-ify this dress?

Just use the same kapray used as Duptaa for your sleeves

Re: How do I halal-ify this dress?

how come we have loads of bhai-sahibs here for an advice all of a sudden ? :smokin:

Re: How do I halal-ify this dress?

thank you all for your suggestions.

i bought the fabric today, banarsi chiffon for the shirts (with almost the exact same print as the original, its gorgeous!), chiffon dupatta, and material for the dhaka pajama. After much bargaining, it came to a total of Rs4000. I'll be dying it deep pink as this is what the sis wants, despite the fact that o think fucshia/ turquoise would look much better. Dying cost Rs1200, and the kaRhai should take between Rs4000-6000. I'm adding all this up and i'll see how it compares to the price of the original :D

I saw very similar kaRhai done with zarri and dapka... so iA it should turn out good.

I'm not sure if i want to get kaRhai done on the sleeves?

Re: How do I halal-ify this dress?

oh and Maheen Khan was shopping around for a lot of fabric, so i guess i was shopping in the right place :D

Re: How do I halal-ify this dress?

^ the shirt is not patterned banarsi at all in the original. It is full kaam wali with heavier kaam on neckline and shoulder over green velvet applique
