how do I convert Pdf doc to word?? please help

Salam everyone,

I have been searching the net the whole day trying to convert a pdf document into word but have had no luck.

There are so many sites and free download options that have not worked. If a software is reliable then I am happy to pay a reasonable amount for it but would prefer a free option.

Would really appreciate someone’s help on this matter. Many thanks in advance. Xx

There are two kinds of PDF documents, one made from a document (word, excel etc file) and one made out of a scanned picture. The first category pdfs can be easily converted but the chances of getting a true editable copy of the second kind depends on the scan quality. The best converter is Adobe’s own Acrobat Pro, but it isnt free. There are free online and offline alternatives like this Free PDF to Word - Free download and software reviews - CNET Download.com but YMMV

Thanks everyone. I have tried pdftoword.com but doc comes out all in funny symbols. I checked the properties of the adobe x Pdf doc that I needed to convert and it says "allowed" on the required sections, so very confused.

You can also try NitroPdf Pro. Its not free, but it has a one month trial, so if you just need to convert docs this one time, you can give it a try. If you need something for the long run, you will need to purchase it

If it is a scan PDF or second party print pdf then it will not be possible to convert it including your formats ... If it is a true PDF generated by a PDF adobe pro acrobat package it will convert it back, but only if it was originally made in the same software package. If it was made in word then converting back to word is not really possible.

The desired results for text content only can be obtained by using OCR feature in any software. First export the PDF image to a tiff file and open Microsoft Imaging Device under Microsoft Accessories, Tools and OCR and export to word.
