.. in securing your home?
Are you satisfied that your house is alarmed (if it is) or do you take any extra precautions?

our town is exceptionally safe. we have NO alarm system...we sometimes even leave the door unlocked. we have huge patio glass door but no door blocker is used ... alHamdolillah, we are exceptionally in our town :)

^ That's good but you should still take precautions.
Our city isn't the safest but our neighbourhood certainly was a family-friendly place. Recently, there have been two stabbing incidents and some burglaries, quarter of which could have been prevented if the home owners had been more diligent in securing their homes i.e. had locked all doors and windows.

Very diligent! Each evening my mum checks both the back door and front door (the front door has a big lock at the top which is always used at night) and then cos i tend to sleep later then her, i double check them lol.
We don’t live in the most safest of neighbourhoods and our home has been burgled twice in the 30 years we’ve been here, sisters house has been burgled once in ten years (same street, we’re desi lol), dad has had someone steal things from the outside of his car and someone once got into it and tried to make off with it, they mustve been pretty desperate cos its an old banger - which is why hot wiring it didnt work:D annnnd mine and hubby’s car has been broken into twice and recently it looks as though someone tried to steal our petrol. Other than that, it’s been an ok 30 years lol.
Oh and over 4 years ago my whole family went over to Pakistan for my wedding so my dad had a burglar alarm fitted, its like the type you get in some jewellery shops, makes a horrible teee taaaw sound whenever someone opens the front or back door. You can also set it to tee taaaw incessantly if someone breaks into the house. I remember one time we had some relatvies with their bratty kids over and they set the alarm off. Dad rushed around like a headless chicken trying to find the remote. We found it eventually. An uncle was sitting on it:smack:.

Nothing more than installation of an alarm system and making sure that it is turned on when we go to sleep.
Alhumdulillah , our neighborhood is pretty safe. It is pind of US anyway.

Oh wow, thankyou that's really nice of you to say! Made my day :) I had been into becoming a writer since i was a kid but about 5 years ago, dont know why, i lost my passion for it. Still hoping it will come back though :)

We haven't been burgled either since we install our alarm, i guess it works!
