If a person’s average age is 75 years, and he spends **16 minutes **on **each **prayer everyday…in 75 years, he will have spent only **3.8 years **in the worship of Allah - our Creator who gave us life and showed us the right path, can we not sacrifice just 3.8 years of our life for Him?
Woe unto the defrauders
Those who when they take the measure from mankind demand it full
But when they measure out to others or weigh out for them, they are deficient.
Do such (men) not consider that they will be raised again
On a Mighty Day
The day when (all) mankind stand before the Lord of the Worlds?
[Surah Al Mutaffifeen: 1 - 6]
Bear in mind that weighing and measuring less (** tatfeef**) is not simply restricted to weighing and measuring less in everyday transactions, but also in giving rights to people in every matter, and also in giving rights to Allah - as illustrated by a report from Umar (ra) appearing in the Muwatta of Imam Malik, when Umar (ra) noticed someone praying very fast by making the movements of Salah short, he said: ‘You made tatfeef’ meaning he did not fulfill the right of Salah that was due upon him.
We should try not to be hasty in doing things - we might think we’re saving 5 minutes but we should think about what we’re really going to use those 5 minutes for…we waste so much time everyday, what are those 5 minutes going to get us?
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: **‘The son of Adam will not pass away from Allah until he is asked about five things: How he lived his life, how he utilized his youth, what means he earned his wealth with, how he spent his wealth, and what he did with his knowledge.’ **(At-Tirmidhi)

Got this in a fwd mail, really made me think. How much time do we actually spend on thanking, thinking of our Creator? How our days go by in just foolish activities?
May Allah SWT make us spend our time wisely and keep us from wasting it…
Allah knows best.
