Parents, tutor, madrassa, family member, friends etc? how? … just curious … in Arabic i mean … well for me it was mum…
Firstly, from a lady tutor in my neighborhood…
Then I used to listen to Shaikh Qari Abdul Basit Abdul Samad a lot in my childhood. Also the similar Qurr’aa like Qari Shakir Qasmi, Qari Waheed Zafar Qasmi etc.
learned very basic arabic during my stay in Madinah Al Munawarah when I was 7 years old. That made my pronounciation of the Arabic more like in an Arab accent. All and All, still in the process of learning. Also inspired by the pronounciation of Abdul Rehman As Sudais, Saud ush Shareem and Afasi.
Infact Afasi’s recitation of Surah At Tauba is really heart-shaking ![]()
From my beloved Qari Sahib (Allah Janat Naseeb Karay) who used to come to our house.
from my nursery teacher miss Sadia :) and then my parents
from the imam of the mosque near our home....
we used to call him Qari Saab, was from bangladesh....
a very educated guy....
he taught some part and rest i learnt myself by reading and listening....
he never took any fees from us, although he did charge other students....
may Allah bless his soul, he was murdered by a knife while sleeping in his room attached to the mosque....
just for some money that a friend wanted to steal....
From my Madrassah by a Jordanian teacher, may Allah bless her.
Parents.
I also went to Islamic schools over the weekends, to enhance my skills and knowledge.
From my grandmother (daadi). May her soul rest in peace.
From Qari sahab, from our local mosque in E-7 Islamabad. He used to come to our house and teach. His Arabic pronounciation was excellent. Later improved reading by listening to Abdul BAsit, Sudais and now Ajami.
May Allah reward my teacher amply in dunya and akhirah.
From my father and then qari sahab.
-Salman
From my Maulana. He passed away a few years ago, May Allah give him a place in Jannah.
At the madrassa. My teacher was from Malaawi.
Had a number of molvi sahibs teach at home.
From a lady qria...then Qari sahib....ALLAH jannat naseeb karay...
My parents, and then a repeat with an Imaam from a local masjid.
