=How did you land your First Professional Job?

Yep… at the University of Toronto, we have this thing called the “Professional Experience Year” where employers can hire students for either 12 or 16 months.

It’s different from a traditional semester or 2-semester long co-op/internship because it allows employers to get the students to work on an actual long-term project.

The whole reason why U of T started this was because most co-op employers said it took them 2 months to train the student and by working only 4 - 6 months after training, the projects were often left incomplete… or the experience was not as useful as it could be for both the student and the organization.
