my mom watches it..
he committed suicide, and was on the deathbed in the hospital...there, he suddenly woke up and realized soni was in trouble...she was being chased by goons sent by cherry...so he escaped from the hospital to save soni. Soni is about to be shot, but veer comes infront of her and takes the bullet and dies :) but before dying, he tells soni that he trusts her and knows it's their baby.

Yes that certainly spoils the whole image of the character.
For instance I really liked the way, original MIL acted in this drama.
Way she talked, her accent, her voice, out of all three MILs I liked her the best.

its the most idiotice soap.... they killed their mayka in first a few months....... now its all about them and their susral!! then why the title mayka??? saath tu chutt gaya mayka ka.... aab kis baat ka rona??? :S
