Hi Paklinks Forumers, I am hoping you guys can help me come to inclusion regarding an investor decision I have to make.
Here’s the idea:
I want to create a streetwear/skater style men&women clothing eCommerce site for people in Pakistan. I have been seeing some Pakistan fashion shows, and the trend is more and more apparent towards modern streetwear type clothing that lots of pak’s young are considering now a days. For example the show with Facebook clearly resembles the kind of clothing I want to make. But I want to do this right, along the way I want to make it into a brand.
But first and most importantly I need to know this: **Are people in Pakistan okay/comfortable buying online?
**
**Also please tell me the best spots in Lahore for a store like this one, where people can also afford to buy a shirt 650 PKR, and lots of traffic comes daily to shop. And do you know how much they usually ask for rent?
**
**Also I have seen people in Pak liking streetwear sort of graphic shirts, but are they also interested in funny t shirts?
**
**If there is some success with people ordering online, I will consider even advertising on tv channels, do you guys know the prices? I want to create a Forever 21 kind of store for Pakistani’s youth.
**
Re: How comfortable are Pakistanis buying online? How good is Pak eCommerce?
I’ll answer some of your questions you asked based my limited experience in the retail market.
**Are people in Pakistan okay/comfortable buying online? **Personally, I don’t mind buying anything online. Not that I haven’t regretted my decision ever but I think its convenient to purchase online. As for overall population, they are skeptical about ordering online sometimes especially with new business but after a while you’ll get sales
**Also please tell me the best spots in Lahore for a store like this one, where people can also afford to buy a shirt 650 PKR, and lots of traffic comes daily to shop. And do you know how much they usually ask for rent? **No idea as such but why do you want to open a store anyway. If you want a brand of your own, you can have other stores place your products, no?
**Also I have seen people in Pak liking streetwear sort of graphic shirts, but are they also interested in funny t shirts?
**Have you done any research on what type of graphics they like? Asking on a forum is a totally different thing, reaching to the people who are actually going to wear your stuff and getting feedback is important. If your target market is people from late teens to early twenties, may be try visiting some universities colleges because
Those guys will have access to internet
That age group generally doesn’t mind experimenting
They are generally brutally honest about what they like and what they don’t.
**If there is some success with people ordering online, I will consider even advertising on tv channels, do you guys know the prices? I want to create aForever 21 kind of store for Pakistani’s youth. **Your focus seems to be on the things that are not relevant at this stage. Right now you need a business plan (before you start your marketing plan).
