^^ Actually, USA only became a country in 1776 and fully took over the whole of USA after 1836.
So technically, the modern USA only begins after the USA-Mexican War. So in that sense, USA is only 150 years old. And besides, by 1900, USA was already a major World Power.
Roughly the same time Pakistan has been independent
