How can this be true?
Below the four colored sections are moved around, yet there seems to be a missing piece?

The grid lines are completely parallel!

Confusion ...thats whats going on and the fact that anything remotely trignometric

although both pictures look same in overall surface area, the lower one has a different slope of the Hypotenuse than the first one causing it to occupy more surface area, exactly more by 1 square hence you end up with an empty square.
Basically, both green and purple triangle are not same slope in both pics htough they look same

hint: look at the joing points of purple and green triangle.

if you count the boxes that green triangle covers in both pictures you will see the difference
