I really cannot comprehend why the countries which supports the rebels such as Saudi Arabia the US and Qatar are at this peace conference but not Iran who supports the Syrian government? Can someone more knowledgeable please shed some some light on the matter.
Many thanks
Re: How can Iran not be at these talks?
I think the reasoning is that Iran doesn't agree to the transitional government (Post-Assad) but I think it is mostly because of backlash due to Iran-US deal here and Iran's not-so-helping attitude of thumbing their nose about the nuclear deal and how they "defeated" anyone.
Probably a lot of posturing by the mullahs, but yeah it doesn't win you any friends.
Re: How can Iran not be at these talks?
So it's clear that these talks are one sided.
Re: How can Iran not be at these talks?
I think, that is no relationship between Iran and these talks. So, Iran cannot intervention on these talks.
