How can I improve my urdu?

I understand urdu fully (apart from political/news hard words) and my vocab is pretty good.

However speaking urdu- i struggle with grammer and order of words and obv accent is quite british.

I speak urdu when im at home but are their other ways to improve my urdu??

make friends who speak urdu. Ask your parents, colleagues if what you're saying in urdu is making sense. If not, how should you rephrase a certain sentence. If you can read urdu, then read urdu newspaper.

Yeah as Popat said make friends who speak urdu. Moreover ask your parents to correct your grammer/pronounciation whenever u go wrong.

P.S.......don't write in Roman urdu with mixed up Caps n stuff...........

urdu maaHaul nihaayat zaroorii hai...uske 'ilaavah, aKhabaaraat paRhnaa, Khabar vaGhairah TV par dekhnaa, urdu jareede paRhnaa, Qur'aan kaa urdu tarjuma aur tafaaseer paRheN...tafaaseer se bahtareen urdu seekhne kaa mauq'a miltaa hai aur saath meN sawaab bhii miltaa hai :)

urdu main kiya grammer dekhna, yeh koi english thori hai kay jo grammer ka khayal rakha jaye.

mazeed, yeh kay alfaz ka talufuz (pronunciation) sahi hona chahiaye.

fakhta bhai ki mojodgi main urdu ki koi fikar na karain. jab bhi moqa lagay un say poch liya karain. woh mashAllah say iss zamany main urdu ka chalta phirta encyclopedia hain.

jaisay ham app say english kay naye naye word sekhtay hain. issi tarah app bhi ham say urdu kay word sekh liya karian.

another day, i was reading your post on gs, and found new word "ostentatious". that drove me to search the meaning of it. :D

STA by grammer i mean the order of words within a sentance sometimes i get the order mixed up slightly and also the male and female words mixed up.

My pronunciation is ok, it has a british accent and sometimes i find it hard to make the 'r' sound in words like 'bada' like bada bhai.

My vocab is already good.

Im planning to watch more urdu tv and listen to urdu radio, at home my parents are so used to my urdu they forget to correct me.

I also stuggle with words like

Tyyaar- to get ready

and

Pyaaz- onion

apparently i dont say these words right but in my head it sounds right, how are they supposed to be pronounced ?

yes do watch urdu plays ...esp new urdu plays on Hum tv..they are very entertaining and would also help improve your urdu :)
