Firstly why do you need to be one of the guys? To be rather crude, nothing is more alluring than a lady who acts like one yet can talk shop. Talking shop applies to all fields of study just not yours. Strike out as an individual. There is absolutely no reason to be "one of the guys". Be yourself. Act like yourself. It will be better for yourself esteem and confidence.
