i just chanced upon this legendary song from film Chori Chori [a Raj Kapoor, Nargis starrer]. a live performance by the legendary Manna Dey but sad deeply saddened by the fact that how age has destroyed his voice. u may see it for urself.**

Manna dey's voice really suited RAJ KAPOOR
(that reminds me the other day i was watching this old film of raj kapoor...hang on a sec it wasnot raj kapoor...it was old pakistani actor syed kamal (commonly known as kamal)....him and raj kapoor looked EXACTLY like each other in their jawani...like i havenot seen that much resemblence yet they werenot brothers, their culture, religion were different...but judwa bhai lagte they and even kamal said in an interview ""People used to mistake me for Raj Kapoor while I was in Bombay."")
and i agree old age has destroyed his voice..it sounded totally different that i had to google his pics to actually make sure that this is manna dey.

Age is a fact of life, every mortal will grow old and eventually die. but atleast people like manna dey will stay young forever through their recorded voices.
for me the best song in the world is "laga chunri me daag". it is sung so well and is so meaning ful :)

indeed...his name will ever shine on the music world and the song u mentioned is yet another gem. some sound worse than the other with the passage of time...its natural thiugh,
