hmmm so it's not the proper term? but the word 'gupshup' is slang right?
The other day about the cricket match I asked my dad, "aaj ka match kisne jeeta" and my mum says its not "kisne" but "kaun jeeta". And my dad being the Lucknowi said no I had used the proper ilfaaz - "kisne jeeta?" was the correct way of posing the question.

The proper word is "kis nay" :p
No gupshup is fine I guess, because gupshup is done in lighter tone. Guftagu is bit more serious.

ps: you can't say gupshup a slang, its a proper word used in Punjabi language.
