how a man is dressed

Re: how a man is dressed

A man's fashion sense/ style is very important, it hints at interesting things about his personality and preferences. Doesn't matter how a guy looks because to me average looking-below average looking guy dressed well>a hot guy who doesn't know how to dress. And to the above question, definitely the first choice.

Re: how a man is dressed

now now, i didn’t mean a man dressed like a crack head or some crib/blood gangster. i just wasted 3-4m on google images to show what i meant.

in both images, you could buy a similar clothes from footlockers. someone once said to me that if you got a certain look, height physique etc you’ll look good in 5 dollar shirt, which i truly believe is true then why pay so much attention to clothes? pretty much anybody could go buy a suit. no? do clothes make a man?

Re: how a man is dressed

Anyone can buy a suit , but you can't necessarily buy style ;)

Re: how a man is dressed

so, doesn't that mean it's NOT about the clothes? else every man would look good in suits etc
no?

Re: how a man is dressed

What is with the perception that men are lazy and shouldn't be proper or dress well or trim their mustache. It's equally important for men and women and says a lot about a person. Esp in a professional setting.

Oh this reminds me of some aunties who are like super well-maintained and their hubbies, welll....

Re: how a man is dressed

One is well aware of his surroundings, perhaps arrogant, attention seeker or even a player.

other one....

...oblivious of his looks, dumb, laid back, or unaware of the etiquette/local custom. But does not seem to be attention seeker or player.

First one 'could be' dangerous. Second one may just need some proper education or needs a good female advisor. :D

Re: how a man is dressed

spin can go either way..let me take a shot
or the latter one is undisciplined, does not care about himself, his surroundings, people in his life, his future, their future, is socially inept, etc etc :)

Re: how a man is dressed

a person with good physique would look better than those in not a good shape in most outfits,
but then he would look better in proper fitting, clean, well maintained, properly pressed clothes than in rags, ill-fitting clothes, lame colors, bad styles etc

Re: how a man is dressed

anyone can buy 'a' suit
not everyone can buy the right suit (i did not say expensive)
thats why u see many ppl wearing shapeless sacks, sleeves that are too long, trousers that are either too high, or bunched up around ankles, jackets too tight or too loose.
and poor fabric choices..pairing with shirts and ties that dont go well...wearing dreaded michael jackson shoes and casual socks

list goes on..

Re: how a man is dressed

Jonathan Swift was of the view that clothes are a mark of one's hypocrisy, as they hide the angularities, hairy and ugly parts. So even if you do not go by that philosophy strictly, a dress is as good as it covers you in a respectable manner. The rest is all about your standard, level, strata, and your consciousness about it.

Re: how a man is dressed

pleej continue m listening...

u r my fashion guru now.....

Re: how a man is dressed

key word is respectable.
I read it as at minimum it should be appropriate for the time and place
what that is thus.. varies..by time and place

Re: how a man is dressed

Michael Jackson could get away with wearing practically anything. He had the confidence to make it a trend. His fashion sense, although very very different was superb in its own way!

Re: how a man is dressed

Yes! That is why he maybe dumb.

Re: how a man is dressed

I think this makes alot of difference. Wearing sweats and tees/jeans to an event or whatever screams douchebag to me.

on the other hand, a man in a suit is always…
