Hmmm, can u wrap the duputta around u like a saree ?

Re: how 2 wear a 3 meter long dupatta

What about wrapping it like a Hyderabadi kara dupatta (usually worn with a churidaar suit). I don't know how to do it...

sara, fir kameez par jo kaam haye wo theek se nazar nahi aaye gha

sahar, do you have pictures of the style you mentioned?

Re: how 2 wear a 3 meter long dupatta

how abt the side way style...

You need six yards to wear a kharra dupatta and you definitely cannot see the kaam on the kameez wearing that style. I’d opt against this. Here’s a picture of the kharra dupatta worn.

Gather and pin it on one side (keep it as long as possible on this side, thoraa side par rakhna, so that it doesn't hide the work), then let it hang behind you and take the other side's palloo , bring it up from under your other arm and wrap it once or twice on your wrist and pin it up. I hope you get what i'm saying... I'll try and post a pic if I can find one.

That is what I was thinking! Hehe! :)

^ the last two pics are of the a kharra dupatta being worn in the proper Hyderabadi style.

To wear it properly - you take the middle of the 6 yard dupatta, tuck it into the back of the pyjama (underneath the kameez). For the 3 yards extending out from the left hand side bring it under your left arm (with some drape) and pleat it and place over left shoulder. Do the same with the right hand side - but instead of draping it over the right shoulder - you need to drape it over the left shoulder as well - both pallus are draped over the same shoulder.

As I noted, you need more than 3 metres and given how it comes in front of the kameez, it hides any designs/work on the front of the kameez. The typical kharra dupatta kameez/kurta has work done on the neck, daman and sleeves only since that is all you can see under the dupatta.
