how can an enaged couple convince their parents if they dont agree
tell them that engagement has no religious significance, and that you wish to give your engagement religious sanction :)
its a serious issue.
i m sorry to say parents have no rigth to stop or delay that at all, n if the aulad fall in any sin during this it will al be on parents.

i will recomend that the couple should daily offer salatul hajjat n pray beg in front of Allah for Nikkah n keep trying to convince their parents
the boy has much job to do, he should stick to it n do nikkah
once Allah razi ho jain rest will autoatically follow
