It was not nice of the kid, but I guess if the kid hasnt seen his mother doing anything else beside cooking and cleaning, thats how their perception of her is.
I think she should do more educational games with her so that they can be aware about her abilities beyond cooking and cleaning.
Personally, I wish my mum had been able to help me with homework, but due to another language, which she never learned, I was mostly doing my own homework on my own. It has been my job to help my younger siblings with theirs. I def. think they have been luckier in that aspect.
