SAO PAULO, Brazil - A Brazilian housewife was convicted and sentenced to 19 years in prison Friday for killing her husband, chopping his body into small pieces and frying it. Rosanita Nery dos Santos, 52, drugged her husband in his sleep, then stabbed him to death two years ago in Salvador, about 900 miles northeast of Sao Paulo, said police spokesman Idmar Bonfim.
She then hacked Jose Raimundo Soares dos Santos’ body into more than 100 pieces, which she boiled and fried before hiding in plastic bags beneath a staircase in her house, Bonfim said. He said police discovered the body parts after receiving an anonymous phone call.
Bonfim said the killing was either part of a black magic ritual or an attempt by the wife to collect life insurance worth about $34,000.
Citing testimony from the woman’s relatives, he said she may also have committed the crime “to avenge many years of humiliation from her husband.” He did not provide further details.
Santos denied killing her husband but said she chopped up his body, Bonfim said.
“She claims masked assailants entered her house, killed her husband and then forced her to cut up the body and fry it because that would prevent the stench of a decomposing body from alerting neighbors,” he said.
Well, considering the way of thinking of few sisters on this forum, I am sure they would still manage to blame the man for this event without realistically looking into the matter.

well im sure he must have been doing something drastic to push her to this extent. I’m not saying what she did was right or wrong, but why would a girl just get up chop up her husband and start frying him? it doesnt make sense…
There is ABSOLUTELY NO excuse for choping and frying anyone, no matter how bad anyone is

And there should be a day celebrated every year for Men’s Rights and their abuse which is mostly not brought to justice, because most people think only wives can be innocent and “Mazloom”
This is a crime against husbands. Don’t women find any vegetables for CHOPPING and eggs to FRYING. Are only husbands left in the whole world for choping and FRYING!!!
This seriously is degrading MEN’s dignity. IF you want to kill, DON’t you find any better way than FRING THEM IN A PAN.

May be all mens have abused their wives, may be all men have evil thinking, may be all men are not sincere to their wives, may be all men are arrogant, may be all men have no shame, may be all men are sensless, may be all men are insensitive, may be all men are-------------------(censored) may be all men are ---------------(again censored), may be all man are,....................so on.

When a woman is abused/killed, do we blame her for deserving it? Do we say that she was evil and must have done something wrong? So why say the guy was the same? Its double standards!
^ MashAllah, I wish all women think that logically and reasonably whenever they consider any issue. I know most of them are logical and sensable but few are the ones who like only reading and writing in favour of "all" women and against "all" men.
Also some men are biased as well.
We must support the truth and should not be biased in anyway towards anyone
I don't doubt for one second that there are those who will blame the women when she's abused or rapd and murdered...{example, that the woman was being a bad wife thats why she was abused murdered, she dressed a certain way, thats why she was raped etc}; So, in all fairness, its not right to say well the man must have been "bad" (i.e., abusive) thats why he got murdered by his wife...
