Household Cleaners

What is one cleaner that you cannot live without in your home? Something that can be use on most surfaces and works like a charm? For me it is Scrubbin Bubbles. Share yours. I am especially interested in finding something that works on stubborn stove spills.

Re: Household Cleaners

I cannot live without Household Borax and Bicarb of Soda. i use the Bicarb with lemon juice to clean ALL the stainless steel surfaces (including kettle, toaster, cooker) The borax I use mainly with boiling water to flush the sink in the kitchen.

For all other kitchen cleaning I like to buy all different cleaners (but always those without bleach). One of my favourites is Stardrops.

For the bathroom I can't live without bathroom mousse as it does wonders!!!

I'm a clean freak!!!

Re: Household Cleaners

The best thing we have is "Scrub Free" for the shower...we have poor ventilation in there and a very old bathroom so it grows mold quickly...I was battling it with bleach but that never worked well, especially on the grout. I'd spend hours scrubbing and scrubbing. But this Scrub Free, you just spray it on and leave the room, come back in half an hour to rinse it off and the shower just sparkles!! GREAT stuff!

For the stove, I really just use palmolive dish soap with hot water and let it sit for a while. Then I use one of those plastic scrubby things and it comes out pretty good. For metal or ceramic removable parts or baking pans, put them in a plastic bag and add 1-2 cups of straight ammonia. Seal the bag and let it sit overnight. Next morning, wash in regular dish soap and it all comes off without even scrubbing!

Re: Household Cleaners

Ajax for bathrooms and SOS scrub pads for oven and stainless steel. I even used the SOS to clean the fridge, it did a pretty good job.
