House Warming Gifts

What to buy?

The last person that invited us actually asked for cash instead of a gift, but i have 2 more to attend and was wondering how this would be as a gift its a chafing dish, and i wouldn’t mind getting one myself.. what do you think ? :hmmm:

Re: House Warming Gifts

Idea is nice and if they already have these one more wouldn’t hurt

Re: House Warming Gifts

What, someone ASKED for cash ???

That gift looks good though! Btw any chance you are going to Chicken Biryani’s house? She needed one of those, I think! :cb:

Re: House Warming Gifts

If this would be gifted to me, i would be loving it

House Warming Gifts

If someone close to you like a sibling or some other close relative to you asks you want you want or if you would prefer cash then, it is fine to request cash for housewarming. But simply asking for cash on a invitation for any other function other than wedding is simply BAD MANNERS!

Re: House Warming Gifts

Just one will look odd? If I were to receive a set it would be cool but not just one! And what about storage? Do they have cotta room for something like this?

Gift card will be better IMO since who knows what their style and taste might be!

Re: House Warming Gifts

I agree, gifting just one might render useless because usually chafing dishes are used at dinner parties, and since desi dinner parties are usually buffet style then you would need more than one and you would want them to match. We have four they look like the one you posted except they have glass lids, and my mom wishes we had more.

Re: House Warming Gifts

i was actually just having a convo with my mom who said the same thing, she said either buy 5 of those or think of something else :hinna:
