What do you think of your house or place of residence.
Is it too big, too small or just right
Do you use all the space all the time or do you think some of it is wasted space
I live in 2 bedroom apartment right now and it is a little small only because I cannot fit all the toys and also would have liked to have some space for the kids to run and crawl around without getting into all the furniture. When I have guests stay over, if it is more than 2 people it is difficult to fit them all in one room and sometimes I do not have enough beds as I cannot keep extra beds in the apartment.
Those of you who own or rent a house, is it easy to maintain and keep the house clean or do you need a maid service once in a while (please also say if you work or stay at home)
I am a working woman and its just hubby and me ... we have alhamdullillah a medium sized home ( as per UK standards its a spacious house ) to be honest its much more space for us then actually needed , we have six bedrooms .. when its just the two of us , we feel lost in the home and the upkeep is pretty hardwork .. but then when we have the guests around , its much more easy to accomodate them and every one has their own space ... for dawats and all , its always good to have enough space ..
We dont have any cleaning help in my part of the world , so we got to do everything on our own .. sometimes hubby and I feel we should move to a smaller home but then we become double minded when we think about times when guests come to stay , it might get over crowded and we may not have enough space for entertainment like dawats and all ...
So yeah there's pros and cons in living in a smaller home or a bigger home ..
Personally, I would much rather have a big house compared to a small one.
My parents live in a european style bungalow (it has 8 bedrooms). We're a big family so its nice that everyone has their own space. Before this, we used to live in 3 bedrooms (we're mashallah se 6 siblings). It was nice and all, but everyone missed their own space.
big or small, if house has a basement, all is well
btw, we are family of 4 (doo hum miaan BV and 2 kids) and we are in 4 bed house. 1 for us, 1 each for kids and 1 is my office. When we have my or her parents or some other guest over to our place, they get office (home office also have bed). I am planning to build my office in the basement in next year or so.
Its all working well for us. There is no space unused (except for Den for now). No question hiding/oranizing toys is big trouble specially in apartment and this is where Basement comes more than handy. We have lived in apartments (2 bed mostly) for around 10 years. It was working well for us till 4-5 years ago.
PS: begum gave me final dhamki today that last weekend was the last time she deep cleaned the house. From next time on, she is calling the maid (available per house basis). My only masoom se request to her was that I got to choose the maid so she need to run their photos before me, before hiring one. I am not sure why has she postponed her plan for now
Furniture is the most important part in the home and it acts as the decorating tool in the home. Furniture gives the more beautiful look to the home if it selected in such a way that it best suits the wall finishing.
We live in a 3-bedroom Maisonette at the moment. The rooms are relatively spacious for Western European standards and for now we are ok with it. The location is brilliant.
Once the kids are a bit older and need seperate spaces we would like to move to a house with at least 4 bedrooms, Inshallah.
We both work full time and have 3 bed and 3 reception house. We also have a big basement. We feel the house is way too big for us as its only 2 of us but we like the location and the house is beautiful. My hubby is really good help and we maintain the place together
we have no issues when guests come around. we have lot of daawats so the space comes handy.
InshaAllah this house will be perfect when we have a family
