I’m hiring a dhol wala for my wedding through my DJ. It’ll be approximately $100 per hour for just the dhol (not including DJ). I wanted it for the entrance of the groom and then my entrance. But then a part of me also wants the dhol when the guests are dancing after dinner.
If I hire the dhol from the entrance till the dancing ends (with a dinner break in the middle), it’ll be $400-500, which I think is too much.
How many hours did you guys hire one for?

Most people just do the entrance. There is usually a DJ for the dancing which makes the dhol redundant.

At my cousins wedding last month the dhol wala was only for the grooms entrance/baraat arrival. I think he was a part of the DJ package because they brought him back out for a few minutes on the dance floor but that was it...it was all DJ for the dancing after dinner.
