There are many paying guest style accomodations available in areas like pechs, smchs, and adjoining areas. I suggest go to any real estate dealer in these areas, and ask them specifically for 'rooms', not apartments. These rooms are available on short term lease, for a few weeks, or a month, or even more...and are fully furnished. and these places are not even seedy. most of them are run by families in their own home partitions.

i knew about all city hotels ........... i'm from karachi, but wanted to know abt hostels or reasonable accomodation for long-term stay ( like for 2-3 semisters).............. i like boyee's idea , thanks
Yes actually boyee is right. But the thing is, lots of these hostel/paying guest type accomodations in homes are mostly available to girls; families letting out few rooms on the upper floor or 1/2 rooms on the same floor. In some cases food etc is a part of the deal.
For guys it's a bit hard to find a right place of the sort. But true, for a long stay, one must look for something like that, seek and one shall find :)
