Hotels in NYC

Dear New Yorkers,

Which hotels are reasonably priced - I don’t want to pay with my first-born, and are centrally located in NYC - close to the theatre district, shopping and general walking about NYC?

Re: Hotels in NYC

define reasonably priced. Everything in Manhattan is NOT reasonably priced but do you really want to be that close to theatre district when you can just hop in cab and get there in 5 minutes or take a short walk.

Shopping - I prefer soho over 5th ave so it's up to what you want to do.

The Pennsylvania Hotel is not bad but again please don't expect luxury. I stay at Club Quarters for business trips. It's small but trendy and gives corporate discounts even for personal trips if you work for a company that has their membership - has three locations Rockefeller, central park and another one that is pretty close as well.

@NJGal - I'll PM you.

Re: Hotels in NYC

True nothing is cheap in Manhattan. Booked Thirty Thirty through expedia.ca and got some discount since I bought the flight package as well. It is the best hotel location wise, very very clean, 10 mins walk to subway, 2 mins walk to Empire state.
Also saw Pennsylvania Hotel when I was there, heard some bad reviews so didn’t book it.

Re: Hotels in NYC

@ Jal_Pari - I will check them out.

Re: Hotels in NYC

I just checked corporate offers at work and I'm getting pretty good deals at the Grand Hyatt and Sheraton - Manhattan at Times Square Hotel - what say you all - are either of these good stays and accessible to the sights and sounds of New York City?
