Hotels in Lahore

I’ll also be staying in Lahore for about two days, I’ve so far come across 4 cheap hotels, which one would u reccommend?

  1. Amer Hotel
From 1600 PAK Rs per night.

  2. Holiday Inn
    From 6750.0 PKRper night

  3. Best Western Shalimar Hotel

  4. Hotel Ambassador
    7-Davis Road, Lahore

Re: Hotels in Lahore

Awaari is considered one of the best.

I stayed in Holiday Inn! very nice! ... first hand xperience says : go for it :)

Re: Hotels in Lahore

^ Thanks, isn't avari a bit expensive?

How about Amer Hotel? It's cheap and looks quite good. Any guppies stayed at Amer Hotel?

Re: Hotels in Lahore

Im also luking so far i have heard that Amer hotel and Gulberg palace are good, does nybody know of ny good guest houses also? Im on a tight budget.

Re: Hotels in Lahore

I think i’ll settle for Amer Hotel.

Re: Hotels in Lahore

You get what you pay for.

I wouldn't advise Amer Hotel unless you plan to spend a lot of your time at Data Darbaar or Civil Secretariat. The hotel is located in one of the most traffic congested places and is way way off from the main shopping and dining parts of Lahore.

Depends on why you are visiting Lahore, ofcourse. If you plan to spend time shopping, dining and generally hanging out at nice places, then of the four choices you gave in your first post, I'd recommend staying at Shalimar Hotel. Its right in the middle of all action, with many points of interest at walking distance. If your main interest in visiting Lahore is to visit the historical places, Shalimar Gardens, Fort, Badhsahi Masjid etc, then staying at Amer Hotel makes sense.

Do remember, that the culinary centerpoint of Lahore is Gulberg. With some nice shopping and dining also in Defence. Staying near Mall Road is, therefore, not recommended. Another hotel near Liberty market, used be Sun Fort Hotel. Not sure if it is still there. That was one other nice option.

Some part of your decision, may also be influenced by where your relatives and friends are located, so check from them first.

Holiday Inn is also very nice, but again its in the more business-central place in Lahore, rather then shopping-central place.

Re: Hotels in Lahore

Ho-tels in lahore? Yes plenty.

Thank u Faisal Bhai, A break down of my trip:

The Last Time I was in Lahore I visited:

Daata Darbaar etc

This time round I want to re-visit these places and also cover some of these places:

Wagah Border
Shalimar Gardens
Masjid Wazir Khan
Anarkali Tomb
Sozo Water Park
Lahore Museum
Lahore Zoo

In terms of food/shopping I want to visit:

1) Food Street
2) Panorama Shopping Centre
3) Anarkali Bazaar
4) Liberty Market
5) Pace Shopping Plaza

I don't have any relatives or friends in Lahore.

Re: Hotels in Lahore

Re: Hotels in Lahore

I'll be travelling with my wife, and we'll also be travelling on our own. How much did u pay at Ambassador?

Re: Hotels in Lahore

Other then mosques and tombs, is there anything else in Pakistani cities?

Re: Hotels in Lahore

Don't forget to go to Freddy's... best food ever.

Palaces, Forts, Gardens... the list goes on.

Re: Hotels in Lahore

Don't visit Sozo Water Park, you'll get sick from the fecies-infested water. It's by far the world's largest toilet, I think.
