very good question......some family members of mine in both Pakistan and India speak highly of scope in this industry but I just don't see it.....someone want to enlighten us?
right now I'm sure that I would not recommend this as a career path to a loved one......
I know that ppl with hotel mgmt diplomas are ending up in dubai, i don't know what sort of roles or salaries and what the career progression is
although India has seen a growth in hotels, resorts as well as business type hotels. that may account for some focus in India.
There is also scope with corp positions with hotel and hospitality industry and their suppliers/partners, it is a huge industry the best prospects are not being in local ops mgmt team of individual properties.
Its a very wide field If u have the right degree in the right field of Hospitality Management then u can earn a good living …I myself is doing Hotel Management
ab har aik ballerina toh naheen hai na. :D
lol...to u older version of adnan sami ho? tab Theek hai...ek **haathii bhunaa huaa**** order kar leN...merii taraf se! :D**
in india, the hospitality sector 20 yrs ago was a handful of pvt star hotels, and a bunch of stuffy govt run places, catering to penniless hippie foreign tourists... things have changed, especially in places like rajasthan, goa, kerala. there is even an indian middle class that accounts for domestic tourism. not a bad industry to be in if you have the personality for it. however like any other degree, there are like 5-10 decent institutions, many run by industrial groups looking for mgmt trainees, and 10,000 shady ones handing out these degrees..
